Why watch this?
Sure, Bullock is a pretty face, but here she really shows her acting
talents.
Plot Summary:
Gracie Hart is a rude, uncouth, tom-boyish special agent. In
order to uncover a ring of Russian mobsters, she's assigned to
enter the Miss United States pageant as the contestant from New
Jersey. After A LOT of work, a new hair style, and make-up,
she's able to pull the whole charade off without too much
embarrassment to her fashion coach, Mr. Melling.

Dad's Preview: This comedy,
set in the world of beauty pageantry, holds together well,
thanks to a good script and Bullock's endearing performance. As
an undercover agent, she enters the Miss USA pageant,
and works her way through the contest's individual
events. You know: talent show, swimsuit parade, and the
interview question about world peace. She
manages to pass them all and not blow her cover. It is
truly an amazing performance as she flexes her acting chops
by being both funny and tough. Another big plus is
William Shatner, as the MC, because, well, its always good to see
him working off the Enterprise. |
